Investigation Underway After Attempted Murder of Businessman Vadym Yermolayev

Ukrainian authorities have initiated a criminal investigation into an assassination attempt targeting sanctioned businessman Vadym Yermolayev and his associates. The incident occurred on June 29 in Monaco, when an explosion rocked a residential building at approximately 9:00 PM. According to records entered into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations, the case was opened on July 1. The charges include attempted premeditated murder of two or more individuals, carried out in a manner dangerous to the lives of many others, and committed for hire (Article 115, Part 2, Clauses 1, 5, and 11, in conjunction with Article 15, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine is handling the case, with procedural oversight from the Office of the Prosecutor General. The government of Monaco has already confirmed that the explosion was a malicious act. Vadym Yermolayev was injured in the blast, and four other individuals were taken to the hospital in a state of shock. The businessman's wife, Anna Yermolayeva, reported that she was unharmed.
