About the Program to Promote Volunteerism Until 2030

This initiative, which runs until 2030, was developed in cooperation with Ukraine’s Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, along with the Center for Democracy and the Rule of Law (CEDEM). It outlines six strategic objectives aimed at strengthening and expanding volunteer activities across the country. By setting a long-term vision, the program seeks to embed volunteerism more deeply into Ukrainian society.

The strategy was shaped with input from civil society organizations, reflecting broad stakeholder engagement in the policymaking process. Ukraine’s Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, Denys Uliutin, underscored the initiative’s role in fostering social responsibility and civic engagement. This collaborative approach signals a willingness on the part of the government to work alongside the public in addressing social challenges.

Strategic Goals of the Program

The adoption of this volunteer development program could mark a significant step toward reinforcing the social fabric of Ukrainian communities. Beyond supporting current volunteers, it aims to encourage more citizens to take part in social initiatives, potentially driving positive change at the local level. The involvement of civil society organizations in crafting the strategy highlights a commitment to partnership between the state and the public in tackling social issues.

In addition to the newly approved volunteer strategy, the government has also launched a comprehensive platform designed to connect volunteers with charities. This initiative aims to streamline volunteer efforts and enhance collaboration, further contributing to the growth of civic involvement in Ukraine.
