Updated Norms for Passenger Buses at the Border

Starting in June, new rules for passenger buses crossing the border have been introduced in Ukraine. The Ministry of Communities and Infrastructure has implemented an improved electronic queue system that controls the arrival of vehicles at border points.

The main update is that strict rules regarding the use of reserved time slots have come into force. Bus companies must strictly adhere to the specified departure times. Violation of this rule may result in penalties for carriers. If slots are consistently booked without being used, companies lose access to the electronic queue for a month.

Representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development explain that the changes are necessary to eliminate 'dummy reservations' in the system. These unused bookings have caused additional delays for other participants in border traffic.

The revised procedures aim to address the problem of long queues at the border, which sometimes exceed 10 kilometers. Both trucks and passenger buses with passengers stand in these queues.

The modernized electronic reservation system was launched after a month of public consultations and the official approval of the changes in June of this year.

In summary:
The Ukrainian Ministry of Communities and Infrastructure has implemented strict rules for passenger buses crossing the border. Now, bus companies must comply with reserved time slots to avoid additional delays and congestion at border points.
