In the city of Shargorod in Vinnytsia region, an English teacher stabbed two former students. The suspect was apprehended while attempting to escape towards the Ukraine-Moldova border. This was reported by the head of the Vinnytsia regional prosecutor's office, Oleg Tkalienko, during a television marathon, as informed by Glavcom.
“The man was preparing for the crime. It has been established that he had previously purchased a knife-ax, with which he inflicted life-threatening injuries to the students. According to one version, his motive was personal animosity towards the children. There had been a conflict with them in junior school in Shargorod,” - Tkalienko reported.
Detention
According to the regional police communication department, the police tracked and detained the perpetrator within an hour after the crime, in a field five kilometers from the crime scene. He turned out to be a former teacher of one of the victims. The attacker had the murder weapon seized and faces life imprisonment.
It was reported that the police are considering several versions of the crime, including a conflict between the former teacher and the student.

According to the prosecutor's office, law enforcement officials found that the attacker had previously bought a knife-ax, with which he attacked the teenagers. Regional prosecutor Oleg Tkalienko told reporters about the circumstances of the murder. According to him, on the morning of September 10, the children were heading to school. Before classes, they were supposed to get medical certificates at the hospital. They got off at the stop. Their former teacher followed them, walked about 200 meters with them, and attacked them from behind, inflicting ten stab wounds on one and five on the other.
After the attack, the man fled. He was detained in the direction of Mohyliv-Podilskyi, where the checkpoint on the border with Moldova is located.
The mayor of Shargorod, Volodymyr Baretksyi, reported that the 23-year-old former teacher was dismissed from his job in the village of Kopystyrin in March due to manifestations of aggression. He had conflicts with one of the murdered boys.
“We sent a commission to the school twice because there were various kinds of irregularities. We had to dismiss the school principal, and the new principal already dismissed the English teacher,” - Baretksyi reported.
According to the order of the mayor of the Shargorod city council, September 10 and 11 have been declared days of mourning in the community.
