Ukrainian television host and journalist Vadym Karpyak has decided to change his field of activity. He announced his decision to enlist in the Armed Forces. This was reported by 'Glavkom', citing the host's statement during the telethon.
The journalist confessed that he had hesitated about mobilization for three years, but has now decided to do it. He explained that he felt the need to join the defense of the country after the war began in the east.
«Since 2022, when I was in this studio, I dreamed that when victory came, the moment of announcing victory would fall on my broadcast. But eventually I realized that I had to achieve victory myself by participating in the defense of the country», – he said.
Karpyak chose the unit in which he will serve, namely the eighth corps of airborne assault troops. He also mentioned that today was his last day as a host, as he prepares for mobilization.
«I love my children and I don't want them to grow up in conditions of war. I believe that each of us should not only talk about victory but also help achieve it. That is why I decided to join the defense of the country. I have often said on air that the Ukrainian army needs more fighters. So the time has come for me to become one of them. It is important to live as you speak», – he added.
Pavlo Palisa stated that even with the signing of a ceasefire, mobilization will not stop, emphasizing the importance of supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine at all times.
