Change in the composition of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in 2025
Throughout 2025, there was a change in the composition of the Verkhovna Rada, resulting in a decrease in the number of deputies to 395. The reasons for this were both early resignations and losses among the parliamentary corps.
In 2025, 8 deputies left the Verkhovna Rada. Among them, three deputies submitted applications for early resignation:
- Deputy Anna Kolіsnyk
- Oles Dovhiy
- Irina Korymshkina, who received two charges from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU)
Another deputy, Andrii Odarchenko, was expelled from the Rada and found guilty of bribery.
Unfortunately, there were also losses in parliament. During the year, the following deputies passed away:
- Sergiy Shvets
- Volodymyr Moroz
- Yaroslav Ruszczishyn
- Andrii Parubiy
This was another reason for the decrease in the number of deputies in the Verkhovna Rada.
At the same time, new deputies came to parliament – Sergiy Melnyk and Dmytro Slynko. Tatyana Chornovil could not take the place of Andrii Parubiy due to service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Additionally, several members of parliament, in particular:
- Yevhen Pyvovarov
- Igor Negulevsky
- Olha Savchenko
- Yuriy Kisiel
received charges from NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP).
Impact of changes on the political situation
Thus, throughout 2025, the Verkhovna Rada underwent significant changes that led to a reduction in its composition and the emergence of new faces in parliament.
The reduction in the composition of the Verkhovna Rada can have serious consequences for political stability and legislative activity in Ukraine. On the one hand, new faces may bring fresh ideas and changes, but on the other hand, instability and corruption issues among current deputies raise concerns in society. In the context of active reforms and the need for effective governance of the country, it is important that new deputies can quickly adapt and bring about positive changes in the legislative process.
