According to Israeli sources, the strikes targeted a complex in Tehran where Khamenei was located. The Iranian side stated that it would publish an audio address from the Ayatollah soon. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that, according to his information, Khamenei is alive.
Israeli and US Strikes on Iran: What is Known About the Operation
Israel and the USA launched a large-scale operation against Iranian military facilities. Reportedly, explosions were heard in Tehran, Qom, Isfahan, Kermanshah, and Karaj. The Israel Defense Forces stated that it destroyed an advanced SA-65 anti-aircraft defense system in the Kermanshah area.
Additionally, according to sources, Iran's Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Mohammad Pakpour may have been killed. Iran closed its airspace, and authorities urged residents of major cities to stay in shelters.
