As part of the veteran direction of the 'Own Business' program, 95 winners will receive grants totaling nearly 45 million hryvnias to start or develop their own businesses. This was reported by the State Employment Service.
As a result, 180 new jobs will be created. Among the winners of the 11th wave of the program, 49% are combatants, 51% are family members of combatants or individuals with disabilities due to war. The overwhelming majority - 63% of grant recipients have higher education. 47% already have their own businesses. The average grant size is 469 thousand hryvnias.
According to the employment service, since the launch of the veteran direction of the program in April 2023, nearly 2000 Ukrainians have implemented their business ideas, resulting in the creation of more than 3700 new jobs. Specifically, 31% of grantees opened stores and workshops, 15% opened cafes or coffee shops, 14% produce goods, and another 9% provide services.
Under the 'Own Business' program from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the State Employment Service, micro-grants of up to 250 thousand hryvnias can be obtained for starting or expanding a business. Participants in combat actions or individuals with disabilities due to war, as well as their second spouses, can receive up to 1 million hryvnias within the veteran direction. Youth aged up to 25 can receive a grant of up to 150 thousand hryvnias.
