The defense forces effectively blocked one of the atypical routes for the infiltration of Russian troops, making the gas pipeline unusable for movement, through which the occupiers managed to seep into the outskirts of Kup'yansk in September. The commander of the 429th separate drone regiment 'Achilles' Yuriy Fedorenko reported that the Russians switched to a risky tactic of crossing the Oskil River, resulting in the loss of about 70% of their personnel. Unable to establish standard crossings over the river, they are using a primitive method that has led to significant losses.
The Russians continue to look for options to restore the gas pipeline, but their attempts have been unsuccessful. The enemy's tactic involves forced crossing over the river using cables, rafts, and inflatable boats. Only 3 out of 10 soldiers are able to reach the other bank under favorable conditions, resulting in serious losses for the occupying forces.
The Russians had previously attempted to use underground communications for infiltration, but all their attempts were met with resistance from the defense forces. Currently, the gas pipeline near Kup'yansk is under fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, preventing the enemy from using it as a route for infiltration.
