Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the government supports a bill significantly increasing assistance to families before and after the birth of children. One of the most important changes will be a fivefold increase in the one-time payment for women after childbirth - from 10.3 thousand hryvnias to 50 thousand hryvnias.
'Today we are approving the bill on assistance to families before and after the birth of a child,' said the head of the government, presenting a wide range of changes in the support system for Ukrainian families.
The new legislation pays special attention to women without sufficient work experience who give birth to children. Currently, this category of mothers receives less than a thousand hryvnias, but with the adoption of the law, the payment will increase to 7 thousand hryvnias per month, that is, seven times.
Among other innovations are monthly payments to one of the parents or guardians for the care of a child up to one year old. The size of these payments will be determined in subsequent government decisions.
It is also worth noting the 'eYasla' program, which will provide parents with the option to choose whether to return to work after a year of parental leave or continue raising the child until they are three years old. In the first case, the state will pay 8 thousand hryvnias monthly, in the second, parents will be able to maintain the payment of social contributions until the child is three years old.
Conclusion
The government is increasing assistance to families, particularly maternity payments, to improve the living conditions of Ukrainian families. The increase in the one-time payment after the birth of a child and other social benefits are aimed at supporting parents during an important stage of life - taking care of infants.
