Ukrainians who receive social payments or international financial assistance are advised to check the relevance of their personal data with banks by July 1. If the client's information is outdated or requires re-identification, the disbursement of funds may be temporarily suspended. This is reported by Znaj.
Who may have payments to cards suspended
This primarily concerns three categories of beneficiaries:
- internally displaced persons;
- recipients of state social assistance;
- Ukrainians receiving financial support from international organizations.
The reason may be outdated or expired documents. If the bank finds discrepancies in passport data, identification codes, IDPs certificates, or residency information, it has the right to suspend operations until the client is re-identified.
Why banks conduct checks
The Ministry of Social Policy explains that verification is necessary to ensure the targeting of social payments and to prevent erroneous transfers.
At the same time, banks comply with legal requirements regarding financial monitoring, which obliges them to regularly check the relevance of clients' documents. Special attention is paid to those who applied for documents at the beginning of the full-scale war and have not undergone re-verification since then.
What needs to be done by July 1
Experts recommend not to postpone updating information until the last day. To do this, it is advisable to visit the bank branch with current documents.
In particular, it is desirable to have with you:
- passport;
- taxpayer identification number;
- IDP certificate or other documents confirming the right to payments.
If the re-identification is not completed on time, the disbursement of funds may be temporarily halted. After updating the data, payments will be restored, but the procedure itself may take from several days to longer, depending on the specific situation.
