Stepfather Sentenced for Stepdaughter's Rape
A stepfather has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape of his stepdaughter. The abuse began when the girl was just 10 years old and continued for at least four years. That friend, upon learning the phone number of the girl's grandmother, informed her of everything, which prompted the mother to contact the police. The man began living with his common-law wife and her 4-year-old daughter in 2011. When the girl turned 8, he began sexually abusing her, and from the age of 10, she was raped for a minimum of four years. After the mother went to the police, the stepfather was detained, and the subsequent trial lasted approximately five years. The defense employed every possible method to delay the proceedings, but the court ultimately found the man guilty.
Sentencing and Conviction
By the time of sentencing, the victim had reached adulthood. The stepfather did not admit his guilt, but the court convicted him under several articles of the Criminal Code: Part 2 of Article 156, Part 3 of Article 153, Part 4 of Article 152, and Part 6 of Article 152. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, the punishment requested by the prosecution.
Commenting on the situation, the stepfather expressed a hope: 'to be a family - stepfather,' and 'to be a family again - stepfather.'
