Launch of 'Own Business' and 'Veteran Grants' Initiatives
The Ministry of Economy and the State Employment Service have announced that applications are now being accepted for the updated 'Own Business' and 'Veteran Grants' programs, with funding allocated for 2026. These programs are part of Ukraine's broader strategy to foster economic resilience and recovery. Applications must be submitted online through the Diia portal, with PrivatBank, Oschadbank, and SENS BANK authorized to administer the funds.
Program Details and Eligibility
The 'Veteran Grants' program has been expanded to include the families of fallen or missing Ukrainian defenders. Entrepreneurs who have successfully completed previous projects under these schemes are now eligible to apply for additional grant funding.
The 'Own Business' program offers the following funding tiers:
- Up to 100,000 UAH for business start-ups without the requirement to create new jobs;
- Up to 200,000 UAH for creating one new job;
- Up to 350,000 UAH for creating two new jobs;
- For entrepreneurs in frontline regions: up to 300,000 UAH for one new job and up to 500,000 UAH for two or more;
- Young people aged 18–25 can receive up to 200,000 UAH to launch a business;
- Veteran grants provide up to 1 million UAH for initiatives that create employment opportunities.
The revised 'Own Business' and 'Veteran Grants' programs demonstrate the Ukrainian government's commitment to supporting entrepreneurs, particularly in the context of the ongoing war and its aftermath. Expanding veteran grants to include their families underscores the importance of social support for those affected by the conflict.
These initiatives are designed to stimulate small business growth and economic activity in regions most in need of financial support. As such, they are positioned to become vital tools for economic recovery in the post-war period.
