The government has developed a plan for electric vehicle charging stations: what will change

Нова ініціатива уряду підтримає розвиток інфраструктури для електромобілів: зміни на краще.

A round table titled 'Policy in the Development of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure: Priorities, Challenges, and Plans' took place in Kyiv at the initiative of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development. This is a collaboration with the first stage of preparing the Concept of State Policy for the Development of Charging Infrastructure for Electric Transport, which is part of the National Action Plan for Renewable Energy until 2030.

It is expected that this Concept will create conditions for the construction of safe and accessible charging stations throughout Ukraine, including on international routes, large cities, and communities. This is an important aspect of Ukraine fulfilling its commitments to Europe within the framework of the green transformation.

'The development of electric transport is not just a matter of convenience or modernity. It is part of Ukraine's commitment within the framework of Eurointegration and green transformation. The creation of charging infrastructure is a concrete contribution to emission reduction, improving the quality of life for citizens, and supporting new technologies.'

Currently, there are over 470 charging stations operating along state roads in Ukraine, but this is insufficient for the needs, particularly on international routes and in communities. Therefore, adapting Ukrainian standards to European requirements, as well as further developing the charging infrastructure, will be an important step in supporting electric transport in Ukraine.

The round table in Kyiv, dedicated to the development of charging station infrastructure for electric vehicles, emphasized the importance of creating a safe network of charging stations as part of commitments to European standards and green transformation. Participants of the event discussed action plans for infrastructure development, including adapting standards to European requirements and the need to build additional charging stations to meet the needs of Ukrainian electric transport.
