Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians carry in their hearts the memory of those whose lives were cut short by the war between Ukraine and Russia. Today we want to remember Stanislav Melnychuk.
Stanislav's actions in the fight for Ukraine ended tragically on October 29, 2022, near the village of Berestove in the Donetsk region. This dreadful news was conveyed by the Chernivtsi Regional Council through 'Glavkom'.
Stanislav Myroslavovych Melnychuk was born on June 22, 1998, in Rukshyn. He was a pillar for his grandmother, who loved him more than anything. His compatriots remember him as a kind, sincere, and cheerful guy with 'golden hands'.
“He was a good son, grandson, friend, and helper. Always smiling and determined, Stanislav loved football since childhood. He literally grew up in the stadium,” recalled his fellow villagers.
Stanislav studied at the Faculty of Economics of Chernivtsi National University, worked as a barista, and was growing professionally. He was successful in his work, winning competitions and caring for his grandmother, who was like a second mother to him.
“With his salary, he bought household appliances for the kitchen to make her work easier. He said that in the future, he would arrange everything and bring a young hostess into the house, then it would be easier for his grandmother. He was a very kind, clever, and decent boy,” said Valeriy Maryniak, the deputy head of Rukshyn village.
Stanislav had many dreams and plans for the future. Together with his father, he was building a house and preparing for a happy life.
“I was preparing this house for him, which he did not manage to finish. He knew how to lay tiles and learned carpentry from me. He was never afraid of work... He went to fight voluntarily, telling me that he would not hide or evade mobilization,” said the hero's father.
Mobilization and Last Days
During mobilization on July 29, 2022, Stanislav Melnychuk was sent to the front. He was assigned to the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade, fighting on the front lines near Bakhmut.
“After training, he went to the front. In phone conversations, Stanislav said that the first two days at zero positions were very difficult due to constant powerful enemy shelling. But he quickly got used to it and did not complain,” recalls his friend Maksym. - I asked him: “How are you, brother?” He was in a combat-ready mood and assured that everything would be fine. And he asked me not to tell his grandmother, so she wouldn't worry. She didn't even know that Stas was already at the front.”
On October 29, 2022, while defending Ukraine, Stanislav Melnychuk was killed near the village of Berestove in the Donetsk region. The emotions from this loss were unpredictably immense...
Stanislav Melnychuk's last life at the Faculty and on the front is an example of true heroism and devotion to Ukraine and his loved ones. We honor his memory together with all those who have become victims of the war for our state.
