ITF Rebrands as World Tennis, Pledges 85% of Revenue to Sport Development

Світовий теніс оголошує про новий імідж та обіцяє інвестувати 85% доходів у розвиток спорту.

A New Name and Fresh Opportunities for Tennis

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has rebranded itself as World Tennis. This shift marks the start of a new chapter for the organization, which has committed to reinvesting at least 85% of all its annual revenue into the global growth of tennis over the next decade. World Tennis also supports 214 national tennis associations, aiming to unlock a 'world of possibilities' for individuals of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds both on and off the court.

Ukraine's Women's Team in the Billie Jean King Cup

In international competition, Ukraine's women's national tennis team is preparing for a quarterfinal match in the Billie Jean King Cup against Belgium. A victory could set up a semifinal clash with Italy. The final stage of the Billie Jean King Cup is scheduled for September 22–27 in Shenzhen, China.

  • Italy vs. China
  • Kazakhstan vs. Spain
  • Czech Republic vs. Great Britain

The rebranding from ITF to World Tennis highlights the organization's drive to modernize its image and strategy, with a sharp focus on expanding the sport globally. These reinvestments could significantly boost tennis's popularity in regions where it has yet to gain a strong foothold. Meanwhile, the participation of Ukraine's women's team in the Billie Jean King Cup represents a key opportunity to elevate tennis within Ukraine and enhance its standing internationally. By competing in high-stakes matches, Ukrainian players have the chance to showcase their talents on a global stage.

As the tennis landscape evolves, critiques of modern play have emerged, reflecting on the changes within the sport. Notably, Toni Nadal, Rafael's uncle and former coach, has voiced concerns about the current state of tennis. His insights may provide a contrasting perspective to World Tennis's ambitious plans for revitalization and growth, highlighting the ongoing dialogue about the sport's future direction.
