Former head of the Main Investigation Department of the SBU, Major General Vasily Vovk is confident that the investigation into the downing of the Boeing in Donbass is somehow being delayed, although the culprits are already known.
According to Vovk, the international investigative group is not showing the results that it could demonstrate. During the investigation, the major general visited the Netherlands several times and asked many questions, but only heard about some "political nuances".
The commission has presented several reports on the investigation of the tragedy to the public, however, there is still no final report. Plans are to continue the commission's work until the end of 2015, to compile a unified report, and publish it in a few months. The Dutch prosecutor's office suggests that the results of the investigation will appear in 2016.
Vasily Vovk, in turn, already knows the names of at least six individuals who are involved in the tragedy of the Malaysian Boeing. Among them are three Ukrainian citizens and three Russians. Their identities have been established by the investigation, and these people must be held criminally liable, the major general is convinced.

Currently, there are five criminal proceedings that need to be addressed. The guilty individuals will be punished, and if it turns out that they are not involved, the decision can always be revoked, Vovk believes. However, for some reason, the Dutch commission is overly cautious and slow, thus giving Russia grounds to believe that no culprits have been identified, and therefore nobody has the right to accuse Russia of what has happened.
The announcement of the names of the suspects is the start of a real investigation, the major general added. Next will come interrogations, investigative actions, there will be some progress in the year-old case. Moreover, in this case, Russia will not be able to refuse to interrogate the well-known militant Igor Girkin-Strelkov, Vovk noted, hinting at one of the figures in the case.
Recall that on July 17, 2014, flight MH17 of Malaysia Airlines was shot down over territory controlled by militants in eastern Ukraine. All 298 people on board died. A joint investigation into the disaster is being conducted under Dutch leadership. It is reported that the report on the causes of the tragedy is supposed to be released in October 2015. Meanwhile, independent researchers have conducted their own investigations, and Russian officials and media have been caught in several contradictory versions of events.
