Володимир Паліброада загинув, рятуючи побратима: подвиг героя з Буковини.

Ukrainians honor the memory of those who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war every day at 9 a.m. Today we will remember Volodymyr Palibroda.

Volodymyr Palibroda, alias - Tumann, died in Kharkiv region on May 26, 2022, while trying to save his friend, having been injured by shrapnel. He was 53 years old. He was born on January 17, 1969, in Bukovina and dedicated almost his entire career to the military. Palibroda participated in various peacekeeping operations in other countries and always prioritized the protection of Ukraine.

The family of the deceased decided to honor his memory by renaming a street in Chernivtsi after Volodymyr. Palibroda refused to go to the front but could not leave his comrades in trouble. After two months of fighting on the front line, he died without revealing his hardships to his loved ones.

I begged him to stay: 'Volodya, you will be useful here. You will work as an instructor, teaching children.' But he didn't want to hear it. Since February 24, he didn't eat or sleep. I set dinner for him: 'Volodya, it's time to eat!'. But he says: 'I am not in the mood for food!'. He is a real man, a true hero... He missed the young ones who died in the war so much. And he says: 'I want to be alive, to see everything. And they should live and live...', recalls his wife Natalia about her husband.

Posthumously, gratitude was expressed to Volodymyr Palibroda for his dedication and patriotism. He is buried in the Glory Alley of the Central Cemetery in Chernivtsi. Ukrainians continue to honor the memory of fallen heroes who gave their lives for freedom and independence.
