Serbian military personnel were put on heightened combat readiness on Monday, December 26.
This was announced by Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic, according to local media.

'The President, as the commander-in-chief, ordered this evening that the Serbian armed forces be at the highest level of combat readiness, which means readiness for use,' the official said.
Serbia has also deployed 155mm self-propelled howitzers and a contingent of military police two kilometers from the 'Jarinje' checkpoint, N1 reported.
'The Serbian army is always ready to enter Kosovo and Metohija if there is an armed attack on Serbs in the north of the region,' said Serbia's first Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.
A column of heavy artillery is approaching the border with Kosovo.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that Kosovo intends to attempt to 'resolve the Serbian problem' and accused 'part of the international community' of inaction, while also calling for calm among Kosovo Serbs and Albanians.
