A Tattoo to Honor a Major Title
Marc Cucurella, the 27-year-old left-back for London club Chelsea, has pledged to get a tattoo featuring the face of Spain’s head coach Luis de la Fuente should the team triumph at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Cucurella made this promise during an interview with Spanish outlet Cope, which took place at an official FIFA photoshoot in Tennessee. Previously, ahead of Euro 2024, he vowed to dye his hair bright red if Spain won—a pledge he fulfilled after the final in Berlin.
Players Making Bold Promises
Cucurella is not the only player making victory-related commitments. Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s rising star, has also promised to grow a beard and mustache if the national team succeeds. Spain will begin their 2026 World Cup campaign on Monday, June 15, with a match against Cape Verde. In the group stage, the team will also face Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.

They not only showcase personal dedication but can also boost team morale ahead of critical matches. Spain’s national team has a rich history of success on the world stage, and such statements from players could serve as extra motivation to reach new heights in the future.
