The threat of a nuclear catastrophe at the Zaporizhia NPP due to the fuel crisis

The cooling systems at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) in the Zaporizhia region are operating on diesel generators due to the fuel crisis. However, the occupiers are unable to ensure their operation due to chaos in logistics.

The Center for National Resistance emphasized that the depletion of diesel fuel reserves could lead to the cooling systems shutting down, overheating of reactors, and melting of nuclear fuel.

'The responsibility for the risk of a nuclear catastrophe lies with the Russian Federation, which has violated all international norms,' the Center emphasized.

'Instead of providing security guarantees, the Kremlin is blackmailing the world with a nuclear catastrophe, using the station as a military base and a tool of pressure,' the representatives of the Center added.

The fuel crisis at the ZNPP could lead to a dangerous situation where the depletion of diesel fuel reserves may cause a severe threat of a nuclear catastrophe. In this regard, the responsibility of the Russian Federation for the events at the power plant is emphasized, and urgent measures are needed to prevent negative consequences.
