Launch of the Upgraded 'eQueue' System
An updated version of the 'eQueue' online booking system for passenger cars is scheduled to launch in June. This initiative is designed to streamline border crossings for drivers by allowing them to join the queue via the 'Diia' portal, as well as the 'eQueue' website and mobile app. This digital approach to border management is part of a broader effort to modernize Ukraine's customs and transit services.
The service will be available to both Ukrainian citizens and foreigners. Separately, we will launch an automated verification system for 'Green Card' insurance policies for all vehicle types.
Oleksii Kuleba
The updated 'eQueue' system has already proven effective, with over 3 million border crossings by trucks and buses completed using the online booking service. Oleksii Kuleba emphasized that 'our task is to make border crossing more predictable, convenient, and transparent for all users.'
The next phase involves expanding the service to private cars and enhancing functionality for businesses. For trucks, plans are in place to organize a priority passage system, including integration with T1 customs documents and TIR carnets, and to ensure priority for authorized economic operators.
Traffic Restrictions and Infrastructure Upgrades
In related news, traffic restrictions at the 'Solotvyno – Sighetu Marmației' crossing have been extended for another month due to bridge repairs over the Tysa River. Meanwhile, the reconstruction of the 'Bronnytsia – Unguri' checkpoint on the border with Moldova is costing over 162 million hryvnias.
It is also worth noting that on January 14, a new pedestrian crossing was officially opened within the 'Uzhhorod – Vyšné Nemecké' checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Slovak border. These developments highlight ongoing work to improve infrastructure and services at Ukraine's borders.
The introduction of the 'eQueue' system for passenger cars is a significant step in modernizing Ukraine's border control, with the potential to greatly simplify the crossing process. Concurrent work on infrastructure improvements points to growing investment in this sector.
The successful implementation of these projects could positively impact trade and tourism in Ukraine, which is critically important under current circumstances. Enhanced services and infrastructure may stimulate economic development in regions bordering neighboring countries.
As the updated online border queue system continues to facilitate millions of crossings, the upcoming enhancements to the 'eQueue' initiative are set to further improve the efficiency of border management. These advancements not only aim to streamline the crossing process for private vehicles but also reflect a significant investment in modernizing Ukraine's customs infrastructure, ensuring a smoother experience for all travelers.
