Increase in the salaries of social and educational workers
Starting from January 1, 2026, the salaries of social and educational workers in Ukraine will rise. In particular, the salaries of social workers will increase almost 2.5 times, which is the result of the adoption of relevant changes in legislation.
The coefficient for increasing the salaries of social workers will be 2.5. For example, the salary of a social manager with a 15th tariff grade will increase from 8,243 UAH to 20,607 UAH. Similarly, the salary of a social work specialist (12th tariff grade) will rise from 6,773 UAH to 16,932 UAH. This increase in salaries aims to improve working conditions and motivate workers in the social sphere.
Increase in the salaries of educational workers
It is also worth noting that the salaries of educational workers will increase by 30% from January 1, 2026. To ensure these changes, 64.6 billion UAH is allocated in the State Budget for 2026 for these needs. In addition, more than 10.3 billion UAH is designated for monthly allowances for work in difficult conditions from January to August 2026.
As noted by Denys Uliutin, 'This work requires a great resource, which is measured not only by professionalism but also by emotional involvement, the ability to empathize and help.'
Thus, the salary increase aims not only to provide financial support but also to recognize the importance of the social worker profession in society.
The growth in the salaries of social workers and educators reflects the state's commitment to support those professions that have a significant impact on social well-being and the development of society. Given the challenging situation in the social sphere, such changes may help attract new personnel and improve the quality of social service delivery. This can also become an important step towards overcoming the shortage of qualified workers in these fields.
