President Meets with Scientists, Awards State Honors
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently met with the country’s top researchers to present state awards and honorary titles. The discussion covered key topics including air defense system development, space technology, and innovations in defense and medicine. At the start of the event, the President awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise (IV and V classes), the Order of Merit (I–III classes), and the Order of Princess Olga (III class) to several scientists. Additionally, honorary titles of "Honored Doctor of Ukraine" and "Honored Education Worker of Ukraine" were conferred. During the meeting, the launch of the National Researcher System was announced, set to begin this year in Ukraine. This initiative will provide monthly stipends to 2,650 scientists, with their performance evaluated across 14 scientific fields annually. The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the evaluation methodology, and payments are scheduled to start in August. The system aims to support young researchers, women in science, and veteran scientists among its primary goals.
