National Security Advisors Convene for Landmark Talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a major step forward in European defense: the formation of an anti-ballistic missile coalition. This initiative emerged from a meeting of national security advisors focused on boosting anti-ballistic missile production across the continent. Representatives from 13 nations attended the discussions, alongside officials from the NATO Secretary General’s office.

Zelenskyy underscored the significance of the gathering, stating:

'I want to thank our European partners today: there was a meeting at the level of national security advisors. We are steadily advancing the topic of anti-ballistic missile production in Europe, and we are building an anti-ballistic coalition. It is worth doing, and right now we are closer to the result than ever before.'

New Multinational Coalition Takes Shape

Beyond the anti-ballistic initiative, the meeting also gave birth to a separate multinational coalition called the Coalition for Resilient Procurement and Unified Support. Its founding members include:

  • Ukraine
  • Italy
  • Finland
  • Norway
  • Sweden
  • The United Kingdom

This coalition aims to synchronize defense procurement strategies and strengthen the resilience of supply chains. It was spearheaded by the Defense Procurement Agency of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.

The coalition remains open to new members, who may join the memorandum with unanimous approval from its Board of Directors. Zelenskyy remarked:

'This is an important, very important initiative. Overall, Ukraine’s positions on the front line, in our long-range sanctions, and in joint results with partners are the strongest they have been in years. We must maintain this level and achieve results. That is exactly what we are doing.'

These moves represent a pivotal effort to enhance the defensive capabilities of participating nations and deepen security cooperation amid modern threats. The creation of both an anti-ballistic coalition and a procurement coordination body signals a growing unity among European countries on security matters—a critical development in the face of ongoing geopolitical challenges. For an English-speaking audience, this marks a concrete shift toward collective European defense self-sufficiency, moving beyond policy discussions into actionable, multinational projects.

The establishment of this new coalition marks a significant development in European defense strategy, particularly in light of the recent formation of another coalition aimed at enhancing military collaboration.
