Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Trip to Odesa Region

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to the Odesa region for a working visit, where he held a security briefing with the leadership of the Ukrainian Navy. The meeting focused on countering Russian threats, with key topics including:

  • bolstering air defense systems;
  • construction of Ada-class corvettes;
  • refuting false statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the capture of Kostiantynivka.

Attendees included senior Navy commanders such as Oleksandr Syrskyi, Oleksii Neizhpapa, Pavlo Palisa, Serhii Lysak, and Oleh Kiper. Neizhpapa briefed the president on Russian attacks involving Shahed drones and missiles. A major topic was the completion of Ada-class corvettes—specifically the 'Hetman Ivan Mazepa' and 'Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi'—being built by Turkey for Ukraine.

Advanced Military Tech and Kostiantynivka Control

Zelenskyy was shown cutting-edge military hardware, including Neptune and Harpoon missile systems, advanced drones, and torpedoes. This underscores Ukraine’s commitment to strengthening its defenses in response to Russian aggression.

Vladimir Putin recently claimed that Russian forces had captured Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region. However, according to DeepState, the front line remains several kilometers from the town, which is still under Ukrainian control. Major Andrii Kovalov, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated:

'Kostiantynivka is under the control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. Military units and subunits of the 19th Army Corps of the Eastern Operational Command continue conducting defensive operations at designated positions within and near the settlement.'

This visit highlights Ukraine’s push to reinforce its naval and defensive capabilities amid ongoing Russian threats. Discussions about new military technology and corvette construction with Turkey represent key steps in modernizing the Ukrainian Navy. At the same time, debunking Putin’s claims about Kostiantynivka confirms that Ukrainian forces still hold the line despite intense enemy attacks.

In light of Zelenskyy's recent statements, it's important to examine the ongoing situation in Kostiantynivka.
