State honors for Ukraine's military and security personnel
Amid the ongoing armed conflict, Ukraine's security and defense forces continue to carry out dangerous duties. In recognition of their service and sacrifice, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed Decree No. 767/2026, awarding state honors to members of the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, the State Emergency Service, and the National Police. The decree covers a wide range of personnel, with many of the awards granted posthumously.
- 338 members of the National Guard of Ukraine, 124 of them posthumously.
- 87 personnel of the State Border Guard Service, including 41 posthumous honors.
- 17 employees of the State Emergency Service, one of them posthumously.
- 58 officers of the National Police, 24 of them recognized after death.
The decree highlights both the importance of honoring those who serve the nation and the need to remember those killed in the line of duty.
Recognizing military personnel and law enforcement officers is central to sustaining the morale of Ukraine's security institutions.
