Zelenskyy Confirms Strike on Russian Defense Factory in Volgograd

Володимир Зеленський підтвердив атаку на оборонне підприємство Росії в Волгограді.

Attack on Russia's Titan-Barrikady Plant

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed a strike on the Titan-Barrikady defense enterprise in Volgograd, Russia. During the night of June 27, FP-5 Flamingo missiles hit the facility, which manufactures military equipment and components for rocket launcher systems. A direct hit followed by a fire on the plant's grounds has been recorded. Russian authorities, for their part, reported damage to an industrial site and ten injuries.

Titan-Barrikady specializes in producing artillery systems and specialized military hardware. While Russian officials have not officially named the targeted facility, President Zelenskyy emphasized that every Russian defense site contributing to the war against Ukraine is a legitimate target for Ukraine's long-range sanctions. This strike is part of a broader Ukrainian strategy to degrade Russia's military production capabilities.

'Last night, FP-5 Flamingo missiles successfully struck the Titan-Barrikady plant in Volgograd. This is a large industrial complex where the enemy manufactures artillery systems and specialized military equipment, including components for rocket launchers used to attack our people. A direct hit followed by a fire on the plant's grounds has been recorded. I thank the warriors of our Defense Forces for their precision.' Volodymyr Zelenskyy

He also highlighted the expanding geographic scope of Ukraine's long-range sanctions, noting that the pressure applied to Russian defense enterprises is laying the groundwork for achieving a just peace every day. 'I am grateful to every Ukrainian engineer and warrior who ensures our long-range capabilities. Glory to Ukraine!' the president concluded.

Impact on Military Operations

This attack on the Titan-Barrikady plant signals the continuation of Ukrainian military operations aimed at dismantling Russia's war infrastructure. Strikes on defense facilities can significantly hinder the enemy's combat capabilities. At the same time, the president's statement about broadening the attack geography reflects growing confidence in Ukraine's ability to reach strategic objectives in the war.

The recent strike on the Titan-Barrikady plant is part of a series of targeted attacks aimed at crippling Russia's military production. In a similar operation, Ukraine also targeted the Cheboksary plant, highlighting a strategic shift in its approach to disrupting defense capabilities.
