Military Targets Hit Inside Russia

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that the country’s military struck a defense factory in Cheboksary overnight on June 10, using FP-5 Flamingo missiles. The attack targeted a facility that supplies components for drones and missiles used by Russian forces. In addition, strikes were recorded against the Kuibyshev oil refinery in the Samara region and two oil infrastructure sites in the Vladimir region. The Kuibyshev refinery lies more than 900 kilometers from the front line, while the Vladimir region targets are approximately 700 kilometers away.

A fire broke out on the morning of June 10 at the VNIIR-Progress defense enterprise in Cheboksary, a plant known for producing Kometa antennas and GNSS receivers for drones, as well as components for Iskander-M and Kalibr missiles. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukrainian forces continue to impose long-range sanctions on Russian military assets and the oil industry.

“We keep applying Ukrainian long-range sanctions against Russian military facilities and the oil sector. Specifically, last night, Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo missiles hit a military plant in Cheboksary that supplies components for the occupier’s drones and missiles. Thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their precision!” - Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Zelenskyy also highlighted operations by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), which struck two oil infrastructure sites in the Vladimir region. “The SBU also delivered fully justified responses, hitting two oil infrastructure targets in the Vladimir region, 700 kilometers away. Thank you to everyone fighting and working for Ukraine!” he added. The Kuibyshev refinery, which was hit, is part of the Rosneft company.

Impact on Russian Infrastructure

These strikes underscore Ukraine’s ongoing strategy of damaging Russian military and economic assets far behind the front lines. Such actions can affect the resources Russia uses to sustain its war effort and its ability to support military operations in Ukraine. Successful hits on critical infrastructure like oil refineries may also have long-term consequences for Russia’s energy security.

The recent military actions highlight Ukraine's ongoing strategy to target critical Russian infrastructure.
