Eid al-Adha Greetings

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has extended his warm wishes to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, underscoring the critical importance of safeguarding human life both within Ukraine and across the globe. In his address, he expressed hope that the holiday would usher in lasting peace, divine blessings, and harmony for every family.

“I congratulate Muslims in Ukraine and around the world on the holiday of Eid al-Adha, Kurban Bayram. May this celebration bring enduring peace, blessings, and unity to every household,” Zelenskyy stated.

Security at Home and Abroad

The Ukrainian leader also stressed the urgent need to ensure security not only in Ukraine but also across Europe, the Middle East, the Gulf region, and the South Caucasus.

“We are protecting lives here in Ukraine and in Europe, and we also support the protection of life in our partner nations across the Middle East, the Gulf, and the South Caucasus. Dangers must not prevail in any part of the world,” he added.

In his message, Zelenskyy also referenced the political prisoners from Crimea held by Russia, emphasizing the imperative of securing their return home. “We also remember our Ukrainian Crimea, where Russia’s war against Ukraine began in 2014. And we are grateful to everyone who does everything to support Ukraine and our people, who condemns the Russian occupation and helps us bring people back from Russian captivity,” he noted.

May 27 in Ukraine marks several observances:

  • Day of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • International Day of Emergency Medical Care;
  • International Marketing Day.

These dates highlight the importance of professional dedication and social responsibility across various fields.

By greeting Muslims on Eid al-Adha, President Zelenskyy underscores the shared values of peace and security both at home and internationally. This message aligns with the ongoing geopolitical challenges facing the nation and reinforces the government’s commitment to human rights. His mention of Crimean political prisoners further signals the continued struggle for their release—a key theme in Ukraine’s national discourse.

As President Zelenskyy emphasizes the importance of security and unity during significant occasions, it is equally vital to recognize the contributions of those who serve on the front lines. Recently, he honored the efforts of state special communications officers, reinforcing the commitment to national safety and professionalism.
