President Zelenskyy's Security Council Meeting
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened a meeting with the heads of the nation's security and defense agencies. The discussions centered on a planned overhaul of the air defense system (PPO) and the critical state of the country's energy supply. The Commander-in-Chief, the Chief of the General Staff, and the Minister of Defense of Ukraine were all in attendance. The Defense Minister, in coordination with military command, is preparing specific measures designed to bolster the nation's defensive capabilities.
During the meeting, it was noted that the most severe electricity supply issues are currently in the following regions:
- Kharkiv
- Poltava
- Sumy
Specific problems have also emerged in southern Odesa, while a critical situation persists in the capital, Kyiv. Zelenskyy stressed the vital importance of maintaining strict oversight in supplying the front lines with drones, weaponry, and personnel, emphasizing that training and replenishing brigades are key factors in enhancing combat readiness. This meeting comes amid a period of intense Russian strikes targeting both energy infrastructure and civilian areas.
"Today we examined situations in Kyiv, Okhtyrka, and Kryvyi Rih. Every community leader and all responsible services must pay real attention to what is happening with residential buildings, with networks, and with the implementation of mandatory decisions to help people."
