Presidential Visit to Military Units in Dnipropetrovsk Region

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to a command post of the 20th Army Corps in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where he met with troops, discussed ways to enhance drone capabilities and funding, and presented awards to service members. The soldiers are carrying out missions to liberate temporarily occupied territories, and Corps Commander Sviatoslav Zaits briefed the President on the operational situation along the defensive line.

Discussions on Drone Systems and Budget Allocations

The meeting focused on strengthening the capabilities of unmanned systems units, particularly mid-range strike drones. Military personnel outlined their requirements for specific drone models and stressed the need to increase the number of electronic warfare systems. President Zelenskyy noted that these issues would be addressed. Additional funding for combat battalions will amount to 7 million hryvnias per battalion.

Zelenskyy also decorated soldiers, recognizing their service with Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of the 1st and 3rd degrees, Orders for Courage of the 2nd and 3rd degrees, and the Order of Danylo Halytsky. Sviatoslav Zaits was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General. Among those honored were two Colombian volunteers who have been defending Ukraine as part of the Armed Forces since 2025. These volunteers took part in evacuating a severely wounded soldier, covering 10 kilometers on foot to save their comrade.

In addition, Zelenskyy visited the command center of the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade and the positions of the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Lieutenant General Leonid Stupnytsky, which is holding the line on the Oleksandrivka axis. The head of state held a briefing on the security situation in the Dnipropetrovsk region, during which Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Head Oleksandr Hanzha reported on measures to strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure in the area.

The President's visit to military units in the Dnipropetrovsk region underscores the importance of supporting the armed forces during active hostilities.

Discussions about drone systems and their funding highlight Ukraine's strategic focus on technological solutions for defense. The awarding of soldiers, including foreign volunteers, demonstrates recognition of their contributions to Ukraine's security and the involvement of international support in countering aggression. Creating a secure environment in the region remains a priority for authorities, as evidenced by meetings to discuss measures for protecting critical infrastructure.

In addition to the awards presented, the President's visit highlighted ongoing efforts in the region, including infrastructure improvements and enhancements to air defense systems. These initiatives are crucial for bolstering the military capabilities of the Armed Forces as they continue to address the challenges posed by the conflict.
