Zelensky imposed sanctions against Mindich and Tsukerman: what is now prohibited for them

Зеленський запровадив обмеження проти Міндіха та Цукермана: які дії їм тепер заборонені.

Zelensky introduced sanctions against businessmen from 'Energoatom'

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed sanctions against businessmen Timur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman, who are figures in the corruption case of 'Energoatom'. This information was published on the website of the President's Office.

According to the decrees, both businessmen hold Israeli citizenship, and all restrictions provided by the sanctions legislation apply to them. These restrictions include asset blocking, prohibition on capital withdrawal from Ukraine, prohibition of participation in privatization and other operations.

The sanctions will be in effect for three years, while some restrictions will be indefinite. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is instructed to inform other countries about the imposition of sanctions and to consider the possibility of imposing similar restrictions.

The case of 'Energoatom'

On the morning of November 10, employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted searches at businessman Timur Mindich, one of the owners of 'Kvartal 95' studio, who is considered a close friend of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Investigative actions also took place at the suspended Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko. However, Mindich left Ukraine a few hours before the searches. The NABU investigation revealed a corruption scheme 'barrier' in 'Energoatom', where suppliers were coerced into paying bribes.

Five individuals have already been detained in the case, and several have been notified of suspicion. Among those involved in the investigation are Timur Mindich, Ihor Myroniuk, Dmytro Basov, Oleksandr Tsukerman, Ihor Fursenko, and others. Participants in the scheme used code names, and laundered money through a special office.

As a result of the investigations of the corruption case in 'Energoatom', the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky imposed sanctions against businessmen Timur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman, who were figures in this scheme. Such steps are aimed at punishing individuals who violate the law and reducing corruption activity in the country.
