Diplomatic Call Between Kyiv and Bratislava

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico held a telephone conversation focused on Slovakia’s support for Ukraine’s European Union membership, the exchange of accession expertise, and potential future visits. Slovakia expressed its readiness to back Ukraine’s European aspirations and to share its own experience from the EU accession process.

Zelenskyy extended an invitation for Fico to visit Kyiv, while Fico in turn proposed a trip to Bratislava for the Ukrainian leader. Both sides discussed the possibility of an in-person meeting in the near future, with their teams set to coordinate a timeline for such a visit.

“Slovakia supports Ukraine’s membership in the European Union and is prepared to share its own accession experience,” Zelenskyy stated.

This conversation signals a strengthening of cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia, underscoring the importance of backing Ukraine’s European trajectory. It comes as Kyiv continues to push for accelerated EU integration amid ongoing geopolitical challenges.

Outlook for Bilateral Cooperation
