Military Briefing Session
On May 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received a briefing from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov. During this meeting, operational plans for long-range strikes in June were formally approved. The previous day saw 236 combat engagements recorded, indicating an intensification of hostilities on the battlefield.
According to available data, the adversary launched one missile strike using 22 rockets. Additionally, 72 airstrikes were recorded, during which 225 guided aerial bombs were dropped. The enemy also deployed 9,794 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,201 shelling attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian troop positions, including 48 strikes from multiple launch rocket systems. This marks the 1,546th day of Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine.
Significance of Long-Range Strike Plans
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the military's report focused on frontline activity and operations against the occupying forces.
“This month has brought a shift in dynamics in our favor, in Ukraine’s favor: we are holding more positions and inflicting more damage. The impact of our long-range sanctions against Russia has been especially significant,”the president stated.
He also noted that key strategic directions were discussed, including:
- Pokrovsk
- Kostiantynivka
- Kharkiv region
- Zaporizhzhia
Zelenskyy underscored the importance of finalizing the June long-range strike plans and expressed gratitude to Ukrainian troops for their precision.
“I identified the decisions that need to be implemented, and we will increase the supply of resources to the forces accordingly. Unmanned systems, drones, and dedicated funding for combat brigades remain our unwavering priorities,”the president emphasized.
