Zelenskyy’s Statement on Belarusian Support for Russia

In an interview with the 'United News Marathon,' President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that Ukraine has repeatedly signaled Belarus to halt its technical assistance to Russia. This specifically involves relay stations used to coordinate strikes by Russian and Iranian drones against Ukraine. Zelenskyy emphasized that the issue of these relay stations has persisted for a long time and is directly tied to Ukrainian casualties. Belarusian authorities were informed of this situation through intelligence and security service channels.

According to the president, Belarus has offered no response to Ukraine’s public statement. He noted that Kyiv has repeatedly raised concerns about Belarus supplying fuel to the Russian military. 'Kyiv initially addresses issues behind closed doors, then moves to tougher measures,' Zelenskyy added. This reflects a broader pattern where Ukraine escalates its response only after diplomatic overtures are ignored.

Technical Backing and Threats to Ukraine’s Security

In his remarks, the president recalled that new 'Fire Point' drones recently struck an oil refinery in the Tyumen region, located 2,070 kilometers from Ukraine. The drone’s flight path covered 2,500 kilometers, and there are plans to develop drones with a range exceeding 3,000 kilometers.

“I explained to him (Lukashenko): a demonstration of concrete steps. Step number one—no technical support. Direct support of relay stations. Eliminate that, remove them, and show us they are removed—and we close this issue,” Zelenskyy stated.

Zelenskyy’s statement underscores the critical nature of Belarus’s technical backing for Russia, which can significantly impact Ukraine’s security. Minsk’s lack of response signals a possible unwillingness to engage in dialogue, potentially escalating regional tensions. Kyiv continues to seek ways to reduce threats from Belarus, but further actions from Ukraine may become more severe if the situation remains unchanged.

In light of Zelenskyy's recent comments regarding Belarus's role in supporting Russian military operations, it is crucial to understand the broader implications of these actions. The president's ultimatum highlights ongoing concerns about communication systems that facilitate these hostile activities.
