Anna Skorokhod introduces a bill against illegal convictions
According to Главком: Anna Skorokhod has proposed a new bill that introduces Article 365-1 of the Criminal Code, which provides penalties for law enforcement officers for issuing illegal convictions and accusations. In particular, this article concerns cases of unlawful sentencing, informing of suspicion, detention, and other restrictions on citizens' rights. Violation of this article is punishable by imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
It is worth noting that Anna Skorokhod is a subject of a corruption case being investigated by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP). On December 5, a criminal group, of which she was a member, was exposed. The group was led by the people's deputy, who offered to organize the imposition of sanctions for $250,000.
The situation with Anna Skorokhod
Moreover, on December 7, 2025, the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for one of the participants in this group. As for Anna Skorokhod, she was released on bail of 3 million 28 thousand hryvnias. The deputy's bill, despite her personal situation, aims to strengthen accountability for abuses in the law enforcement system and protect citizens' rights.
Anna Skorokhod's proposal may indicate an attempt to improve the situation in the justice system, which suffers from cases of illegal convictions and abuses by law enforcement. In a context where corruption is a serious problem in Ukraine, the introduction of new legal norms could be a step towards increasing citizens' trust in the judicial system. However, in light of her own legal troubles, questions arise regarding the sincerity and motivation of this initiative.
