Attack on Odesa: critical infrastructure damaged

According to glavcom.ua: The Russian military delivered a strong blow to the Odesa region at night on December 13, leading to serious damage to the region's critical and civilian infrastructure. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), at least four people were injured as a result of these events.

Throughout the night, rescuers battled large fires caused by numerous shelling. The fire spread to a civilian vessel, energy system installations, warehouses with textile products, as well as residential buildings, office buildings, and vehicles.

More than 100 fire departments of the SES were engaged in eliminating the aftermath. Information about damage and casualties continues to be clarified.

Military actions and damage

During this night, Odesa and its outskirts became the arena of one of the largest aerial attacks in the entire war. The Russian troops fired more than 300 missiles and kamikaze drones aimed at energy, industrial, port, and civilian facilities.

As a result of the attacks, electricity supply was interrupted in many parts of Odesa and the region, leading to problems with water supply and heating.

Consequences for the population

Hospitals switched to backup energy sources, fuel and water supplies were activated. Dining rooms with drinking water are operational, and water delivery for technical needs has been organized. Reliability points for the population have also been launched.
