THE SBI of Vinnytsia Region Uncovered a Tax Evasion Scheme of 5 Million UAH

The detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Vinnytsia Region have completed the investigation of a case regarding deliberate tax evasion amounting to more than 5 million UAH. The state has recovered the damage caused, and compensation occurred at the pre-trial investigation stage. According to the investigation, a resident of Vinnytsia Region was renting out various non-residential premises, including production, warehouse, and retail spaces. However, when concluding lease agreements, the man understated the actual amount of payment.

This allowed him to artificially reduce the tax base and, accordingly, evade tax and fee payments. The total amount of unpaid taxes amounted to over 5 million UAH.

The criminal proceedings on this fact have been sent to court under Part 4 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for tax evasion (mandatory payments).

Police Detention in the Village of Pogribishche Pershe: Circumstances of the Case

We remind you that an official investigation has been initiated in Vinnytsia Region regarding the death of a man during his detention by police in the village of Pogribishche Pershe. It has been preliminarily established that in the evening of July 22, on the road in the village of Pogribishche Pershe, patrol police officers stopped a man who was riding an unregistered Honda moped. During the interaction with the police, the 50-year-old driver, who showed signs of alcohol intoxication, tried to escape and resisted, so law enforcement decided to detain him. During this, the man's condition worsened.

A case of deliberate tax evasion amounting to over 5 million UAH has been recorded in Vinnytsia. A resident of Vinnytsia Region understated the actual amount of payment when concluding lease agreements for non-residential premises, which allowed him to avoid corresponding tax payments. The criminal proceedings on this fact have been submitted to the court, where the perpetrator faces liability for tax evasion. At the same time, the police are conducting an investigation into the death of a man during his detention in the village of Pogribishche Pershe in Vinnytsia Region. The driver, who showed signs of alcohol intoxication, worsened during the detention, which led to his death. The official investigation is ongoing.
