Denys Berinchyk’s Comeback

According to Главком: Former lightweight world champion Denys Berinchyk will step back into the ring in late July 2026 in the United Kingdom. This marks the athlete’s return after a six-month break due to a shoulder injury that required surgery and subsequent recovery.

Berinchyk last fought in February 2025, losing to American Keyshawn Davis at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He was knocked down in the third round and then knocked out by Davis in the fourth. That bout was the first defense of the WBO title Berinchyk had won on May 18, 2024, by defeating Mexico’s Emanuel Navarrete.

Career and Prospects

Before that loss, Denys Berinchyk had compiled a perfect 19-0 record with 9 knockouts. His defeat to Davis was the first of his professional career. Berinchyk also won a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics. Promoter Oleksandr Krasyuk had previously indicated that Berinchyk’s next fight could take place in late April or May 2026, but it is now confirmed for the end of July.

Now 36 years old, Berinchyk is preparing to return to the ring in an effort to reestablish his standing in world boxing.

“Definitely not a pushover,” said Max Didenko, commenting on his prospects.

Coming back after an injury and a tough loss to Keyshawn Davis, Denys Berinchyk’s return could be a pivotal moment in reviving his career. He must prove he is ready to compete for titles again and climb back into boxing’s elite. This fight will test not only his physical condition but also his ability to rebound from the first defeat of his professional journey.
