Найновіше опитування показує, що переважна більшість американців вважає конфлікт з Іраном помилкою.

Survey Findings

According to Главком: A joint survey conducted by Washington Post, ABC News, and Ipsos found that 61% of Americans believe the use of force against Iran was the wrong decision. Fewer than 20% of respondents consider the operation a success, while roughly 40% describe it as a failure. Another 40% of those surveyed say they are not yet ready to draw final conclusions.

Among Republicans, 79% think the war was the right call. However, 60% of Americans believe the conflict could increase the risk of a recession. A majority of respondents (61%) also feel that military action raises the likelihood of terrorist threats against the United States. Over half of those polled think the war may damage relationships with allies.

Shifts in Foreign Policy

In light of these results, the U.S. presidential administration has sent a notice to Congress indicating its intent to exit the state of armed conflict with Iran. This move is accompanied by new diplomatic efforts: Iran has handed Pakistan the text of a fresh negotiation proposal for talks with the United States. These developments signal a change in foreign policy approaches, which could affect future relations between the two countries.

The survey results highlight a deep divide in American public opinion regarding military action in Iran, particularly amid concerns over economic and security consequences. Given the high level of dissatisfaction, the administration may need to step up diplomacy and explore alternative paths to resolve the conflict, in order to ease tensions both domestically and on the international stage.

As the U.S. administration shifts its approach in response to public sentiment, the legislative landscape is also evolving. Recently, the Senate rejected a measure to limit military engagement in Iran for the second time, reflecting ongoing debates over the country's foreign policy and military strategy. This development underscores the complexities surrounding the conflict and the challenges faced by lawmakers in addressing constituents' concerns.
