March 8th Frontline Report: 120 Clashes and Thousands of Strikes Across Ukraine

According to Главком: This marks the 1,474th day of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. By 10:00 PM local time, 120 combat engagements had been recorded. Since the start of the day, the invading forces launched 50 airstrikes, dropped 178 guided aerial bombs, deployed 5,900 kamikaze drones, and carried out 2,660 artillery and mortar attacks on Ukrainian troop positions and civilian settlements. The intensity of these attacks underscores the relentless pressure on Ukrainian defenders along the vast frontline.

Situation Across the Frontlines

On the Pokrovsk front, preliminary reports indicate 42 occupiers were killed and 13 wounded. Ukrainian forces destroyed one artillery system, 12 units of special equipment, and two vehicles. They also damaged a tank, seven artillery systems, two vehicles, two units of special equipment, and 11 enemy shelters. Additionally, 158 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various types were destroyed or suppressed.

• On the North-Slobozhanske and Kursk fronts, the enemy conducted one airstrike, dropped two aerial bombs, and shelled Ukrainian positions and settlements 110 times, including six strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.
• On the South-Slobozhanske front, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian defender positions once near the settlement of Zybyne.
• On the Kupiansk front, the enemy attacked twice in the direction of the settlement of Kurylivka.
• On the Lyman front, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three enemy attacks towards the settlements of Stavky, Drobycheve, and Lyman.
• On the Sloviansk front, the enemy attempted to advance seven times in the areas of Zakytne, Riznykivka, and Platonivka; four of these clashes are still ongoing.
• On the Kramatorsk front, the enemy attacked twice in the areas of Nykyforivka and Chasiv Yar; one engagement continues.
• On the Kostiantsynivka front, occupiers stormed Ukrainian defensive positions 18 times today near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, and Sofiyivka, and in the direction of Kostiantsynivka, Illinivka, and Novopavlivka.
• On the Pokrovsk front, the enemy carried out 18 attacks, trying to advance near the settlements of Shakhove, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Molodetske, and towards the settlements of Shevchenko and Serhiivka; one attack is ongoing.
• On the Oleksandrivske front, the enemy assaulted five times near the settlements of Terneve, Zlahoda, and Vorone, and towards the settlements of Andriivka-Kleven and Pryvillia.
• Enemy airstrikes targeted Pidhavrylivka, Havrylivka, Oleksandrograd, Pokrovske, Pysantsi, and Malynivka.
• On the Huliaipilske front, 17 clashes occurred near Myrne and towards Zaliznychne, Hirke, and Sviatopetrivka.
• The enemy launched airstrikes on the areas of the settlements of Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Kopani, Zahirne, Huliaipilske, and Charivne.
• On the Orikhiv front, one combat engagement with the enemy took place near Stepnohirsk. The settlements of Komyshuvakha and Orikhiv came under enemy airstrikes.

The frontline situation remains tense, with numerous attacks by Russian forces across multiple sectors. Despite significant enemy losses, Ukrainian forces continue to defend their positions and repel assaults. This sustained intensity highlights the protracted nature of the conflict and the ongoing necessity for international support to Ukraine's defense efforts against persistent aggression.
