Boris Johnson's Visit to Ukraine

According to Главком: During a trip to Ukraine, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson dined at the Ukrainian cuisine restaurant '100 Years Ahead,' owned by chef and restaurateur Yevhen Klopotenko. At the restaurant, Johnson sampled traditional Ukrainian borscht and other national dishes.

'100% ate the borscht' - Yevhen Klopotenko

This is not Johnson's first visit to Ukraine. In 2025, he first traveled to Odesa, where Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko gave him a tour. While walking along the Primorsky Boulevard near the monument to the cannon from the frigate 'Tiger,' Johnson joked about the quality of weapons supplied from the United Kingdom. The politician also spoke with Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych.

A Return to Ukraine

On February 22, 2026, Boris Johnson posted a video showing him disembarking from a Ukrzaliznytsia train at a Kyiv station. Yevhen Klopotenko again commented on his visit, noting:

'Cool. What an honor to host such a distinguished guest' - Yevhen Klopotenko

According to the chef, the politician not only tried the borscht but also praised its taste: 'Of course, the most delicious borscht in the world, and with salo too.'

Visits by foreign politicians to Ukraine, including Boris Johnson, underscore the crucial international support the country continues to receive. Such high-profile visits often serve as a platform to showcase Ukrainian culture and cuisine on the global stage, strengthening cultural ties and promoting its gastronomy. These gestures also demonstrate the ongoing commitment of world leaders to support Ukraine's sovereignty and resilience.
