Heating in Ukraine will begin only in winter: expert names the reasons
The start of heating in Kyiv may be delayed until the beginning of winter due to government decisions and electricity supply issues. The head of the Union of Utility Consumers Oleg Popenko believes that the heating season will unlikely start in October due to the lack of compensation for gas. Furthermore, even in November, heating may not begin yet, and for many residents of Kyiv, warmth in their homes will appear only later.
'November 15th, 20th, December 1st, even December 10th — this is the reality of the start of the heating season for many residents of Kyiv,' the specialist notes.
There is also the threat of electricity shutdowns, which may hinder normal heating in multi-story buildings. Popenko criticizes the authorities for their ineffectiveness in addressing this problem and points out the risks associated with insufficient electricity supply for pumping groups. According to the expert, the conditions of the current heating season will be the most challenging in wartime.
Due to government decisions and electricity supply issues, the start of heating in Kyiv may be significantly delayed, and warmth in the homes of Kyiv residents may not appear until mid-December. General problems with gas and electricity create serious risks for a comfortable heating season. It is necessary to closely monitor the further development of the situation and prepare for possible delays in the beginning of the heating period.
