Alpha Special Operations Center Achieves Major Success

According to Главком: In 2025, the Alpha Special Operations Center of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) achieved the highest number of enemy fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) kills of any unit within Ukraine's Defense Forces. The Center's interceptor crews destroyed a record 2,220 hostile drones over the year, marking the unit's most successful performance since its inception.

The targeted drones included both strike and reconnaissance models, such as:

• Shaheds
• Gerans
• Molniyas
• Lancets
• Zalas
• Orlans
• Merlins
• Italmases
• Skats
• and other UAV types

A particularly notable achievement was the destruction of Russian medium-altitude, long-endurance strike and reconnaissance drones of the Orion type, each valued at over $5 million USD.

The total estimated value of the enemy's air defense assets destroyed or disabled by the Center last year is approximately $4 billion USD. In 2025, the Alpha Special Operations Center also conducted long-range drone strikes against five military airfields of the Russian Federation. These attacks resulted in damage to 15 aircraft on the ground, with ammunition and fuel depots also destroyed in the blazes.
