According to glavcom.ua: Ukraine reacted to the information from the French publication Le Monde about a possible demilitarized zone in Donbas. Advisor to the President's Office Dmitry Litvin dismissed these rumors, noting that a decision on demilitarization can only be made at the highest political level.

Litvin explained that the translation of Le Monde's information was incorrect, and the topic being discussed can be viewed from different aspects, however, the final decision must be coordinated at a higher political level or with consideration of public opinion in Ukraine.

President of Ukraine's reaction to the US proposal

Recall that on December 11, Volodymyr Zelensky stated to journalists that the US proposed to create a "free economic zone" in the non-occupied part of Donbas as part of a peace agreement that involves the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donetsk. The president noted that such a scenario was not favorable for Ukraine, but dialogue should continue. Zelensky also pointed out the need to consider options so that not only Ukraine conceded certain positions, but also Russia responded symmetrically.

The president also shared his thoughts on Donbas territories with American colleagues and their concept of future development of Ukrainian lands in the context of implementing the peace plan.
