In Poland, the annual ranking of professions that enjoy the greatest social respect has been published. This year, the long-time leader of the list has changed, and among the most respected specialties are medical workers, rescuers, border guards, and military personnel. In many of these fields, thousands of Ukrainians are currently employed.

This information is provided by InPoland citing the research agency SW Research.

Medical Workers and Rescuers Earn the Most Respect in Poland

The study has been conducted for the sixth consecutive year and covers dozens of different professions. In 2026, the ranking included 56 specialties.

For the first time in the last five years, firefighters have lost their first place. This time, the most respect among Poles was earned by paramedics, who received a positive rating from 79.6% of respondents.

The top three also included:

  1. Paramedics – 79.6%.
  2. Firefighters – 78.8%.
  3. Pilots – 76.9%.

Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, university professors, border guards, miners, and career military personnel also held high positions.

Many Ukrainians Work in Highly Rated Fields

In Poland, tens of thousands of Ukrainians work in medicine, logistics, security services, transportation, and other sectors that enjoy high levels of social trust.

The top ten professions with the highest respect included:

  • Doctors – 73%;
  • Nurses – 69.3%;
  • Pharmacists and Chemists – 63.4%;
  • University Professors – 61.2%;
  • Border Guards – 60.4%;
  • Miners – 58.4%;
  • Military Officers – 58.3%.

The authors of the study note that Poles traditionally value professions associated with responsibility for the life, health, and safety of people the most.

Influencers and Politicians Rank Lowest

The least trust among Poles is awarded to professions related to self-promotion and politics.

The bottom positions in the ranking were occupied by influencers, respected by only 14.7% of respondents, YouTubers with a score of 16.2%, and telemarketers with a result of 18.1%.

Politicians also received low evaluations. Members of the Polish Sejm are respected by 21.1% of respondents, and members of the European Parliament by 22.2%.

The survey was conducted from April 21 to April 23, 2026, using online questionnaires. It involved 1,006 residents of Poland aged 16 to 80.

It should be noted that after the war, nearly half of Ukrainians are expected to remain working in Poland.
