Rising diesel prices in Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: The price of diesel fuel in Ukraine has risen by three hryvnias per liter compared to October. This price increase is particularly noticeable in the Khmelnytsky region, where the average price for diesel and gasoline is approximately 61 hryvnias per liter. At the same time, the price of gasoline remains at around 62 hryvnias per liter.

Wholesale prices for diesel fuel have also increased, rising by six hryvnias per liter. The reasons for this increase are linked to sanctions against Russian oil refineries, which have led to a reduction in diesel production. In recent days, there has been a decrease in diesel prices on global markets; however, this has not yet affected domestic prices in Ukraine.

Expert comments

Experts comment on the situation in the fuel market. Oleg Harnyk notes that the price situation for gasoline and automotive gas over the past few months has demonstrated stability. Meanwhile, Serhiy Kuyun points out that the main reason for the price spike is the global situation. Thus, the diesel fuel market continues to be influenced by external factors, making it difficult to predict.

The increase in diesel fuel prices in Ukraine reflects general trends in the global energy market, where geopolitical factors, such as sanctions against Russia, affect the availability and cost of oil and, consequently, petroleum products. The situation in the diesel fuel market may significantly impact the country's economy, particularly transportation and agriculture costs, which in turn will affect prices for goods and services for consumers.
