According to hvylya.net: This week, cucumber prices in the Ukrainian market have noticeably dropped. According to EastFruit data, prices decreased by 24% due to a rapid increase in production volumes.

The situation has been complicated by the beginning of the harvest in most greenhouse farms, which significantly increased the supply of cucumbers in the market.

Industry representatives explain that the increased supply is accompanied by low demand. 'Buyers are not always satisfied with the quality of cucumbers, which is why sales are very slow,' say those in greenhouse farms.

Currently, cucumber prices range from 25 to 45 hryvnias per kilogram, which is 25% cheaper than last week. Compared to mid-August 2024, cucumber prices are on average 32% lower.

Forecasts for the future

Experts predict further price decreases for cucumbers due to the excess supply over demand and the lack of market balance.

It is also worth mentioning that honey has significantly increased in price in Ukraine; beekeepers have announced new prices and warned of a possible shortage in the future.
