The current price range is now between 130 and 160 Ukrainian hryvnias per kilogram. This decrease is driven by higher shipment volumes from domestic greenhouse farms, along with weaker demand from wholesale companies and retail chains. Steady imports of foreign vegetables are also adding downward pressure on prices.

Domestic production is expected to continue increasing in the coming days, which could further influence pricing trends. Despite the recent drop, greenhouse tomatoes in Ukraine are still 73% more expensive than during the same period last year. In early April, prices for these vegetables ranged from 150 to 170 hryvnias per kilogram.

Experts note that demand from wholesale buyers for greenhouse tomatoes continues to slow, likely due to a saturated market with local produce. In February, greenhouse cucumber prices also began to decline for similar reasons: rising supply and weak demand.

The Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association stated, 'Cheap vegetables should not be expected in the 2026 season.'
